Supreme Knight gets supreme pay

News from the Trenches

A full-page advertisement promoting Carl Anderson's book A Civilization of Love, What Every Catholic Can Do To Transform The World, appeared on page A8 of The New York Times on Monday, April 21, 2008.

That Anderson, Supreme Knight of the Knights of Columbus, has his book promoted in a viciously anti-Catholic, pro-abortion newspaper shows once again the double standard within the Knights of Columbus.

John L. Allen Jr., senior correspondent, National Catholic Reporter, writes in the ad: "Anderson performs some intellectual heavy lifting..."

I beg to differ. The only heavy lifting Anderson does is when he carries his salary checks, a grand total of $1,167,721 yearly, from the K of C skyscraper to the bank!
